Scott's Houston Hurricane Rita Pages: Bad Electricity, Odds and Ends

These next 4 shots are by my friend Kayte Young who lives in my old neighborhood in the Montrose. Supermarket awning shot to hell.
Tragic loss of beloved Fiesta supermarket parrot trademark figure! Rita showed no mercy.

The horror!
But tragedy becomes art, or at least home decor. Good catch, Kayte!
Here's the son of a bitch that caused my power outage, a hinged, fusable link that popped. Power company guys finally came by and flipped it shut with a long extensible pole. After three days, that is.
Another scene from the night before Rita hit: the cats are feeling the pressure. Clockwise from top: Captain Guts, Stinky II, Tiger Bear, and Lean Swartz.
